Job Description

The Role

The Public Cloud team at SUSE empowers customers to run their business in the cloud. We’re looking for an engineer who wants to join us in delivering creative Cloud solutions, building and maintaining the tools that connect our products to the cloud, and aiding our customers in the transition from on-prem to hybrid to cloud. What you’ll do

Collaborate with other engineers and architects to implement features, fix bugs, optimize performance, and design new solutions for SUSE’s products in the cloud and related services

Maintain current public cloud offerings in the cloud service providers using Automation wherever possible

Contribute to a wide range of open source projects

Participate in technical design and code review processes

Contribute to existing documentation and / or educational content based on product requirements and user feedback

Help to maintain a positive, healthy and inclusive learning culture

What you’ll bring

At least 2 years experience developing software

Proven ability to develop applications using one or more general programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Go)

Familiarity with git-based source control management tools

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English

Demonstrable experience with Linux-based operating systems (e.g., openSUSE)

A strong sense of ownership, accountability, transparency and drive

Demonstrated contribution to Open Source project(s)

Passion for contributing to a safe, diverse, and inclusive culture

Bonus :

Experience with cloud computing (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and / or distributed systems

Experience working within a distributed team

Familiarity with software packaging using deb or RPM

Experience with client / server model
