We are looking for a seasoned Linux Consultant to audit and assess a highly fragmented Linux infrastructure for a major Czech retail company. This short-term advisory role is ideal for a technically strong professional with experience in infrastructure audits, standardization, and risk identification. The goal is clear diagnosis and actionable recommendations to improve security, stability, and manageability.
DETAILS :
Duration : 9+ months contract
Location : Prague (3 days onsite per week initially, with potential for reduced onsite presence later)
Languages : Czech – fluent, English – fluent
Start : Q3 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform a comprehensive audit of a large, legacy Linux infrastructure spanning ~35 distributions and versions
- Identify and document the top 5 critical issues and associated operational / security risks
- Provide a clear set of corrective actions and infrastructure improvement recommendations
- Develop a roadmap for Linux distribution consolidation and patch management strategy
- Act as an advisor to the business owner and technical contact
- Support the planning and transition to a future internal Linux administrator
